5. Governance

5.1 Governance

The GOVERNANCE of the health system with regard to COVID-19 relates to pandemic response plans and the steering of the health system to ensure its continued functioning. It includes emergency response mechanisms, as well as how information is being communicated, and the regulation of health service provision to patients affected by the virus.

COVID-19. Activities to combat coronavirus infection at the national level are supported by the Operational Staff of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

27-Jan-20: An interdepartmental commission was created under the Kazakh government to coordinate activities to prevent the occurrence and spread of the coronavirus. It was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, which included all relevant governmental bodies and the akimats of the regions and cities of Nur-Sultan, Alma-Ata and Shymkent

15-Mar-20: The President of Kazakhstan introduced a state of emergency throughout the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period from 8:00 a.m. of March 16, 2020 until 7:00 a.m. of April 15, 2020

11-May-20: State of emergency was ended according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazkhstan from 29 April 2020, quarantine measures stay the same.

5-July-2020: Strict quarantine measures were introduced on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to State sanitary doctor decree №44 of 3 July 2020

14-July-2020: Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin announced that the lockdown in the country is extended from 20 July till 2 August (https://www.zakon.kz/5031785-lokdaun-prodlen-v-kazahstane-do-2.html)

There are no fast-track procedures for the regulation and licensing of medical devices or aids.
