4.2 Entitlement and coverage

The Russian Government ensures that all testing and inpatient health care services for diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 are delivered free-of-charge in state health facilities. If a patient self-refers for private testing, that is provided by the Centre for Molecular Diagnostics (see Section 1.5) they pay directly. Moscow City also provides free of charge prescribed medicines for polyclinic patients, for patients with COVID-19, and for patients with any acute respiratory diseases being treated at home.

The cost of hospital treatment for COVID-19 in Moscow are covered by the Moscow branch of the Federal Compulsory Health Insurance fund, and the tariff envisaged is up to 200,000 RUB per COVID-19 patient.
