1. Preventing transmission

The section on PREVENTING TRANSMISSION includes information on key public health measures that aim to prevent the further spread of the disease. It details how countries are advising the general public and people who (might) have the disease to prevent further spread, as well as measures in place to test and identify cases, trace contacts, and monitor the scale of the outbreak.

1.1 Health communication

Recommendations on hygiene respiratory etiquette and physical distancing have been provided to the public via multiple channels.

Since March 20, 2020, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic has published the most comprehensive guidelines.

An Internal Crisis Management Group was established within the Ministry of Health. Moreover, a Central Crisis Management Group was established that includes representatives from all relevant Ministries and public authorities (Health, Home Affairs, Transport, Finance, Foreign Affairs). The Central Crisis Management Group is chaired by the Minister of Interior, who works in close cooperation with the Chief Public Health Officer.
Informations and updates related to COVID-19 are released on a daily basis via the Public Health Authority, the Ministry of Health, the National Health Information Center and the Prime Minister.
