Policy responses for Slovenia

4.2 Entitlement and coverage

Slovenia provides full coverage for all procedures, diagnostic, treatment and other types of care for all communicable diseases. Citizens and non-nationals can be treated and monitored free of additional charge. This also means that the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia reimburses providers for the full amount of delivered services.
Given the declaration of the epidemic, the Government is responsible also for the provision of the respective equipment to all public health care settings, such as primary health centres, hospitals and nursing homes. This includes medical equipment, medicines, protective equipment and technology, such as ventilators.
All testing for COVID-19 and the resulting treatments and all types of health interventions are fully paid from public funding.
