Policy responses for Sweden

1.3 Isolation and quarantine

In Sweden, most preventative measures do not involve involuntary quarantine. Instead, individuals are expected to act responsibly and follow the given recommendations.

When experiencing symptoms, people are advised to stay at home until they have been without symptoms for two days. If their condition worsens and it is not possible to manage at home, the recommendation is to call 1177 to seek medical advice. As older people have a higher risk of getting severely ill from COVID-19, nursing home visits have not been allowed since March 30th.
